Making your first offer, in %%five steps%%.
B.U.Y.I.T. — the five-step process used by over 200 first home buyers to go from initial call to keys-in-hand. Simple structure, no jargon, one checklist per step.

Five steps. One acronym. Any property.
The framework is deliberately simple — five steps you can remember in order, each with its own checklist.
B — Book a call
A free 15-minute, no-obligation call to map out your journey: deposit, pre-approval, KiwiSaver, ownership structure.
U — Understand the mortgage
Meet with your mortgage adviser. Interest rates, pre-approval, affordability, insurance requirements.
Y — Your offer
Write the offer. Conditions, price, settlement date, chattels. Supported by our offer letter template.
I — Investigate (due diligence)
LIM, building report, title, KiwiSaver. Conditions checked, risks identified, unconditional decision made.
Settlement day. LINZ registration, keys, reporting letter, post-settlement admin.
Settlement day. LINZ registration, keys, reporting letter, post-settlement admin.
Proven with over 200 first home buyers
The framework has been used with over 200 first home buyers — check the feedback on our Google reviews.

Angus Grayson, LLB
I built B.U.Y.I.T. because first home buyers kept asking me for one framework, not six. The five steps are the version I can explain in a 15-minute call and a client can remember a week later.
Send me the guide.

Does this work for auctions too?
Steps B, U, I and T are the same. Step Y (Your offer) is replaced by auction preparation — we cover that in the 3Ps Auction Edition.
How long does the full process take?
From first call to keys: anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks for a standard purchase. Longer if pre-approval isn't in place.
Is there a version for investors?
The framework applies. The tax and structure advice differs — we'd scope that separately.
Can I use this with another lawyer?
Yes. The framework is ours, the steps are universal. Any NZ property lawyer can execute against it.
