Why we focus %%only%% on first home buyers.
A behind-the-scenes look at the framework we built to be the best property lawyers for first home buyers in Auckland. For mortgage advisers and brokers who want to understand what happens to their clients after the referral.

The framework in full.
Five components that together make HouseMe Legal a specialist FHB practice, not a generalist firm that also does conveyancing.
Narrow positioning — first home buyers only
We decline most non-FHB work. Specialism means better advice, faster turnaround, and a consistent client experience.
Fixed-fee pricing with capped pre-offer work
Transparent fees mean your clients can budget. Capped pre-offer work means deals that fall through don't hurt the client financially.
The 3Ps framework
Every matter follows the same three-stage structure. Clients know where they are. Brokers know where we are.
Broker-first communication
CC'd on every email. Real-time updates. Zoom calls at every key stage.
Reduces errors before offers are signed. Means your client's offer isn't the reason a deal fails.

Broker library — 73+ volumes and counting
Plain-English content you can send your clients. Builds your authority, reduces your email load.

Angus Grayson, LLB
I built HouseMe Legal as a specialist first home buyer practice because generalist firms struggle with the volume of education first home buyers need. If you're a mortgage adviser, this guide shows you what you're getting when you refer a client.

Before you download.
Do you take non-first-home-buyer matters?
Selectively. Second-home buyers, investors, and refinancers only if they were FHB clients originally or referred by an existing broker relationship.
Will you CC me on every email with my client?
Yes, if they consent. Most do. The broker needs to know what's happening on the legal side.
Do you pay broker commissions or referral fees?
No. Lawyer-broker referrals in NZ are strictly non-commercial. Our relationship is built on mutual client quality, not fees.
How do I refer a client?
Email angus@housemelegal.co.nz or book a call on the website. No formal referral form required.
