Where you are on the climb

The bottom line

Buying a first home runs in three stages, and the legal tasks in each are ours, not yours.

Every purchase we run goes through the same three stages. Prepare is everything before you sign: pre-approval, KiwiSaver, reviewing the agreement. Progress is the window after signing when due diligence happens and you go unconditional. Peak is the final week and settlement day.

Knowing which stage you are in tells you what to do next and what to stop worrying about. It also tells you which jobs belong to your lawyer, your mortgage adviser, and you.
